The Andre Silva paradox
While in Europa League the Portuguese young striker is one of the absolute protagonists, in Serie A he has yet to find his first goal with AC Milan’s jersey.
A 38 million euro purchase yet to be fully discovered. After six months, Andre Silva remains an unknown factor. Except for Europa League, in which the Portuguese has collected ten appearances and eight goals (including the play-off games against Craiova and Shkendija), Andre Silva has not managed to affect AC Milan’s performances with his appearances.
An absolute protagonist in the European field and a foreign body in Serie A. This is the paradox of the Rossoneri’s number 9 that in the league is still looking for his first goal in Serie A while in Europa League he is the competition’s top scorer along with Rigoni and Morales. Hugely influential, in this sense, is certainly the lack of continuity granted to Andre Silva in Serie A where he has never been on the field for three consecutive matches for more than fifty minutes.
However his goal scoring record in the league is worrying, given the eleven appearances and the absence of a single goals. AC Milan’s recovery will inevitably pass from the goals of its expensive strikers, so much missed till now and necessary to achieve European aspirations. The talent is there now continuity must be found.
