Milan-Fiorentina, probable lineups

AC Milan host Fiorentina at San Siro in a very crucial game for both teams. Injuries have forced coach Gattuso to overhaul his starting eleven.

Milan-Fiorentina before the Christmas party. After two consecutive draws, the Rossoneri host the Viola at San Siro, today at 15:00 CET. Gennaro Gattuso’s team currently holds the fourth spot in the standings but the recent form has been quite disturbing.

Like in the last matches, even for Fiorentina, Rino must make considerable changes to the starting lineup. Gigio as always between the posts but in front of him the four man back-line is going to be different compared to Torino and Bologna. Captain Alessio Romagnoli and Zapata form the central duo while Ignazio Abate returns as right back. Ricardo Rodriguez on the other side.

Revolution even in the midfield department. Frack Kessie and Bakayoko are suspended for Milan-Fiorentina so Calhanoglu must return to play as central midfielder. Jose Mauri makes his Serie A debut from the first minute alongside Davide Calabria. Bertolacci was supposed to start but he has suffered an injury in training so it’s going to be up to Calabria to fill that position. His first appearances ever as central midfielder.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s change of position is a great opportunity for Samu Castillejo to showcase his skills in the league. The Spaniard will play on the left while his compatriot Suso will start on the right. Once again El Pipita Higuain will lead the attack, hungry for goals after nearly two months of fasting. The 4-3-3 lineup penalizes Cutrone who must sit on the bench.

AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma, Abate, Zapata, Romagnoli, Rodriguez, Calabria, Jose Mauri, Calhanoglu, Suso, Castillejo, Higuain.

FIORENTINA (4-3-3): Lafont, Milenkovic, Pezzella, Hugo, Biraghi, Benassi, Veretout, Fernandes, Mirallas, Chiesa, Simeone.
