Gattuso reveals Calhanoglu future

AC Milan left winger Hakan Calhanoglu has been subject of speculations regarding his future at San Siro with a return to Germany very likely.

Even yesterday, in Milan vs Napoli finished 0-0, Hakan Calhanoglu was one of big disappointments of the match with La Gazzetta dello Sport naming him the worst among the Rossoneri, highlighting his weak shots from distance and many, almost amateur, errors in passing.

Despite all, coach Gennaro Gattuso continues to use Calhanoglu always as a regular starter and urged the fans to stop booing him but instead support him. Gattuso insists that Hakan has the required qualities but he needs confidence and support to succeed.

After the match Rino also confirmed that Calhanoglu will not be sold in January and he will continue to remain at San Siro. AC Milan had agreed to sell the 24 left winger to German club Red Bull Leipzig for a reported fee of more than 20 million euros. Money that would have been reinvested on market but Gattuso blocked everything.

So far the Turkey international has made 26 appearances but has found the back of the net only on one occasion, in Europa League against Dudelange. Very disappointing numbers that have hurt AC Milan’s ambition for a place in the top 4. Unless he ups game quickly Milan and Gattuso may regret their decision to keep Hakan.
