Milan, two question from China for Montella and Mirabelli

AC Milan have overcome the difficult moment after the defeat in Rome thanks to two consecutive victories but scepticism arrives from China regarding some choices.

AC Milan grabbed another win tonight against Udinese thanks to a double from new signing Nikola Kalinic. A couple days ago the rossoneri destroyed Austria Wien away from San Siro 5-1, starting the group stage of Europa League in the best possible way, a competition which Vincenzo Montella and the club value a lot. The goal is to start with a win and close the group at the top. Two positive results that proved the unexpected defeat against Lazio was just e false step.

The club’s historic stage is the Champions League, but for now we have to be happy with the small cup, which is still very important. La Repubblica newspaper writes that winning it is worth about thirty million euros (read here), as well as entering directly the next Champions League, as happened this year with Manchester United.

The Roman daily reveals that two questions have came from China for manager Montella and for the sports director Massimiliano Mirabelli. Why did 82 million euros of investment on the mercato stayed on the bench in Vienna (Andre Silva and Kalinic plus Calhanoglu)? And why then was not this figure spent on Andrea Belotti? The answer is in the 3-5-2 module that enhances the most expensive purchase (Leo Bonucci for 42 million) and the recovered Alessio Romagnoli, and even the duo Kalinic – Silva in attack. Calhanoglu will also be employed as an attacking midfielder.

AC Milan against Austria Wien deployed a considerable number of new signings on the field, except Andrea Conti (injured), Ricardo Rodriguez and Fabio Borini (technical choice). Mateo Musacchio started from the bench, leaving space for Cristian Zapata in the defense of three. In the middle of the field Lucas Biglia and Kessie were confirmed in Europa League and in Serie A today. Kalinic was the only one confirmed in attack while Andre Silva, despite the three goals, was left on the bench today.
