New AC Milan coach: Spalletti’s contract details

Luciano Spalletti is set to become the new AC Milan coach replacing Marco Giampaolo after just seven games in charge.

Luciano Spalletti is ready to start again, without departing much from his last football club. AC Milan want to focus on the Italian coach and start a new cycle after the disappointing tenure of Marco Giampaolo.

The former Inter coach is the man chosen by consensual by the AC Milan management to replace Marco Giampaolo. Very likely the Rossoneri will announce Giampaolo’s sacking tomorrow. Giampaolo is set to depart after just seven games in charge of AC Milan.

In these hours the 60-year-old coach is negotiating his new contract with Milan that will link him with the Rossoneri for the next two years. Luciano Spalletti will sign a two-year deal with the option for a third at 4 million per season.

Thus Spalletti becomes again one of the highest paid coaches in Serie A. Elliott Management has agreed that an expert name is required to manage a young squad like Milan’s. However, there is still one issue to solve.

Luciano Spalletti is still under contract with Inter until 2021 for 4.5 million per year. The coach is negotiating with Inter to terminate his deal but demands a pay-out of 2.5 million euros.
