Newcastle challenge AC Milan for top January target

AC Milan are set to battle Newcastle for the services of Romain Faivre. The French attacking midfielder is rated 15 million euros.

Romain Faivre was a hair away from joining AC Milan during the summer. The Rossoneri negotiated his transfer until the very last day of the mercato with a charter booked and waiting to bring the player in Italy. Brest ultimately rejected Milan’s €15 million offer and the Rossoneri had to settle for Junior Messias.

However, the contribution of Junior Messias has been minimalistic to say the least. The 30-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder has played only 16 minute so far. He arrived on loan from Crotone and the chances of a permanent transfer seem very low.

Meanwhile, Faivre is AC Milan’s top target for the January window. The Rossoneri plan to bring a new winger/attacking midfielder and the French star of Brest tops Maldini’s list of targets. But this time AC Milan must be aware from the competition of Newcastle.

The Premier League side were recently acquired by Crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Newcastle are currently battling relegation and important investments are expected in January to avoid such a fate. One of the main names on Newcastle’s January shopping list is Romain Faivre according to Calciomercato,it.

The 23-year-old French winger is doing well this seasons coring 3 goals and assisting 4 in 10 appearances. Premier League are a known colony for French players but AC Milan reportedly remain Faivre’s first choice according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Nevertheless, when a tempting bid from Newcastle could change everything.
