Ibra and Fabregas? Here’s why they did not arrive

During the presentation of Krzysztof Piatek sporting director Leonardo explained why AC Milan failed to sign Ibrahimovic and Fabregas.

AC Milan presented before the media today new signing Krzysztof Piatek. The 23 year old Polish striker stunned Serie A scoring 19 goals in 21 appearances in overall in his first six months in Italy. Numbers that were enough to convince Milan to bet on him for the remaining of the season.

The young start fits perfectly in the philosophy of the new Rossoneri project. Elliot wants the management to buy promising talents that can wear the Red and Black jersey for many years to come and within a short period of time become true stars.

Many had speculated recently that Elliot’s instruction to bet on under 25 players was the main reason why negotiations for Ibrahimovic and Fabregas failed. But as explained by Leonardo today that was not the case.

Regarding Milan’s January market movements, the Brazilian explained: “We have done a lot so far, maybe we are the ones we have done most. Piatek and Paqueta are two important purchases, not only for the present but also for the future. With them we are a more complete group.

Ibrahimovic and Fabregas? Our attempts for Ibra and Fabregas have not been blocked by our transfers policy but from market situations”. The sporting director implied that UEFA’s sanction and their timing was the main reasons why we won’t see the two stars represent the Rossoneri.
