OFFICIAL – AC Milan sign Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa

AC Milan have just closed the purchase of Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa for 35 million euros. The Polish striker will sign a five year contract with the Rossoneri.

Krzysztof Piatek is officially a new Rossoneri player. AC Milan and Genoa have just closed an agreement and the 23 year old old Polish striker will undergo medical tests tomorrow before being presented to the media. Piatek will be available for Milan’s upcoming Serie A match on Saturday against Napoli.

Neither Andrea Bertolacci or Halilovic have been included in this transfer. AC Milan will pay €35 million in cash to Genoa, plus a small bonus in case Milan qualify for Champions League this season. The entire fee will be paid by the Rossoneri immediately in a single installment, that’s explains Genoa’s discount from 40 to 35 million.

Krzysztof will travel to Milano tonight and tomorrow morning will undergo medical visits at the La Madonnina clinic, and later sign his new contract at Casa Milan. A contract that will tie him to the Rossoneri for the next 5 years. Piatek will earn around 1,8-2 million euros net per season during his stay at San Siro.

The signing of Piatek for 35 million euros leaves the door open for Gonzalo Higuain to join Chelsea. Finally coach Gennaro Gattuso will be able to count on a new striker focused on helping Milan achieve a spot in the top four. In his debut season in Italy Krzysztof Piatek has scored an incredible 19 goals in 21 appearances becoming one of the most wanted striker in Europe. Now it’s time to replicate the same results even with the Red and Black jersey.
