BREAKING: AC Milan complete striker signing

AC Milan have completed the signing of Chelsea star Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman will partner with Ibrahimovic in attack.

The search for a new striker has finally come to an end. French star Olivier Giroud with be AC Milan’s new centre forward and will guide the attack together with Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season.

Sky Sports confirms that AC Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea. The Rossoneri will play 2 million euros for Giroud, bonuses included. The striker has agreed a two-year contract at around €3.5 million per year since June.

The recent injury of Zlatan Ibrahimovic forced the Rossoneri to sign a new striker able to be a starter rather than someone to alternative with the Swedish star. The management has no doubts that Giroud is the ideal player for Stefano Pioli’s side.

The World Cup winner has spent the last 10 years in England playing with Arsenal and Chelsea. The 34-year-old has won numerous trophies including the last edition of the Champions League. Milan had hoped to close the arrival of Giroud on a free transfer but Chelsea unilaterally triggered a one-year contract extension complicating things a bit.

Nevertheless, the mercato in attack is not considered closed with Olivier Giroud. Besides Zlatan, and the France international, the Rossoneri plan to sign a young striker than can benefit from the experience of both future colleagues.
