Pioli chooses starting XI for Tottenham vs Milan

AC Milan play the second Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur as they search for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Rossoneri return to play in the Champions League after the Fiorentina debacle. The second leg of AC Milan vs Tottenham Hotspur will be held in England. The two teams will square up against each other in search of a quarter-final spot with the Italian champions holding the advantage following their narrow win at San Siro.

Coach Stefano Pioli will confirm the same 3-4-2-1 formation of recent games. Despite the recent rumors about Simon Kjaer’s utilization, the Dane centre back will not be deployed from the first minute. Pioli will rely again on Malick Thiaw at the heart of the defence alongside Fikao Tomori and Pierre Kalulu.

Ismael Bennacer was not at his best against Fiorentina but he will start again from the first minute in the Champions League against Tottenham. The Algerian will partner with Sandro Tonali in midfield. Theo Hernandez will play on the left with Junior Messias preferred on the right wing.

Rafael Leao returns to play from the first minute after the suspension against Fiorentina. The Portuguese winger and Rade Krunic, to alternate with Junior Messias, will be in support of Olivier Giroud reports Sky Sport. The French centre forward will lead the attack for Tottenham vs Milan. Giroud’s presence was in doubt but the striker seems to have fully recovered from the flu.

TOTTENHAM Probable XI (3-4-2-1): Forster; Romero, Lenglet, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Kulusevski, Son; Kane.

AC MILAN Probable XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori; Messias, Tonali, Bennacer, Theo Hernandez; Krunic, Leao; Giroud.
