Pioli explicitly ask AC Milan to sell €20m rated player after tense fallout

The coach and the player have reached a point of no return. Pioli wants him out and AC Milan are on the market for his replacement.

AC Milan are working to revamp completely right wing. Christian Pulisic has arrived from Chelsea while the management is working to sign another winger. The Rossoneri are in advanced negotiations to sell Junior Messias to Torino. However, it looks like Alexis Saelemaekers will soon have the same fate of his teammate.

The 24-year-old Belgian international has proved himself useful in a number of occasion but he is no longer part of the project. The management has had a meeting recently with the player’s agent and has made the situation pretty clear to Saelemaekers. “If you want to play more it would be better for your to look for a new club and bring offers“.

Journalist Andrea Lngonoi reports that the sale of Alexis Saelemaekers this summer is a specific request of Stefano Pioli. The two had a fallout last season and their tense relationship was obvious during certain moments. Despite Saelemaekers being in fine form on several instances Pioli surprisingly kept deploying Junior Messias as the starting right winger. Saelemaekers did not hide to Pioli that he did not agree with his selection choices.

Their relationship has reached a point of no repair and the 24-year-old must find a new club. AC Milan have set the asking price for Alexis Saelemaekers to €20 million but the feeling is that the Belgian may leave even for around €15 million. A couple of clubs are monitoring closely the situation of the Belgian international who is now on the market.

Alexis has made 140 appearances for the Red and Blacks across all competitions. He has never been much of a goal scorer but he has provided the necessary balance and link between midfield and attack. Saelemaekers ended last season with 4 goals and 3 assists. In the meanwhile, AC Milan are already exploring the market to sign another right winger after Pulisic. Chukwueze remains the top choice while Arnaut Danjuma is the new name of Furlani’s list.
