Pioli makes 6 changes for Milan vs Genoa

Coach Stefano Pioli will make a couple of changes for tonight’s Coppa Italia match against Genoa with Daniel Maldini expected to start.

AC Milan will host Genoa at San Siro tonight at 21:00 CET. Milan vs Genoa is a good opportunity for Stefano Pioli to give a chance to a couple of players who have found little space but for Genoa coach Andriy Shevchenko it may be the last chance to save his job.

The good news for the Rossoneri is the return of Fikayo Tomori. The English defender has tested negative and Pioli will deploy him from the first minute against in the Coppa Italia match. Tomori will form the central duo in defence with Matteo Gabbia. Pierre Kalulu will return on the right with Theo Hernandez completing the back four. Mike Maignan will protect the goal.

Changes are expected in every department. Pioli can’t do without Sandro Tonali and the midfield dynamo will play another match from the first minute. Timoue Bakayoko will be rested with Rade Krunic returning in the central midfielder role.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was in fine form against Venezia but he is suspended for Milan vs Genoa. Olivier Giroud will lead the attack in the Coppa Italia match.
