Repubblica: Milan to make two big sales in January, the details
The disappointing results so far and the impossibility to secure a place in the top 4 may force AC Milan to sell two of its top gems.
The situation at AC Milan is not good. In the league the distance from the big teams is unprecedented, in Europe yesterday, the rossoneri took a non decisive hit but that clearly doesn’t make things better. Without ever forgetting the corporate issues: the club is awaiting both UEFA’s decisions on the voluntary agreement and the possible refinancing of over 300 million euros of outstanding debt with Elliott Management Corporation. A stall phase that at times seems worrying.
In order to rebalance the highly in red financial accounts of Milan, therefore, some sacrifices would be necessary, unless the aforementioned financial issues can be resolved within a few weeks. La Repubblica today reports of two top players who could pack their bags in the winter, both because they have not convinced at Milanello and because they appear among the few players who still have important market demands. We’re talking about Hakan Calhanoglu and Andre Silva, both arrived at AC Milan in the summer transfer window but till now far from convincing and stable in their performances.
Calhanoglu has various requests from Turkey, even if only with the loan formula, but AC Milan plans to receive an considerable proposal in order to let go the disappointing Turkish number 10. Silva instead would be a painful decision: he cost 38 million euros but does not seem to be the ideal striker for today’s Milan and given the demands of Arsenal and Barcelona can not be ruled out the start of a concrete negotiation in the coming days.
