Settlement Agreement: What is Milan risking
Now that UEFA has officially rejected AC Milan’s request for the Voluntary Agreement the club is expected to adhere to the Settlement Agreement.
UEFA has refused the request for a Voluntary Agreement presented by AC Milan revealing that there are still uncertainties in relation to the refinancing of the loans to be paid back in October 2018 and the financial guarantees provided by the main shareholder. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, these are the most probable penalties that the rossoneri will face if the club will adhere to the Settlement Agreement:
If there is a Settlement Agreement, the list of sanctions is quite wide: fines, reduction of the Uefa list, equilibrium in the balance between purchases and departures, etc. The agreement presupposes compliance with certain parameters: for example, reducing budget losses within the limits set by UEFA.
Exclusion from the European competitions, as happened to Galatasaray and Dnipro, represents the maximum sanction but it will not be the case of AC Milan, also because we are talking about different situations, but it still remains a possibility like the transfer ban, prohibiting the rossoneri from singing players in the next transfer window. However Fassone has reassured that the sanction will be minimal.
