Gazzetta: AC Milan’s top summer signing

Tottenham are challenging AC Milan for Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos but Boban and Maldini can make the difference…

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan have two priorities for now: a centre back and a central midfielder. “A top signing? We’ll try.” The Rossoneri executives make it clear that at least one top level signing will be made this summer and many clues point to the midfield. The casting is very open and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a couple of candidates are currently secret names.

However, the number one track, that is, the one that leads to Dani Ceballos, 22-year-old talent of Real Madrid (34 presences and 3 goals this season), undisputed leader of Spain Under-21 champion of Europe is not a mystery.

A fascinating, convincing but at the same time very complicated hypothesis. The midfielder will leave Madrid this summer and of course he would prefer to join a club that will play in Champions League. Tottenham and Arsenal remain very interest in his services. At this point AC Milan must quickly exploit all the prestige and history of the Red and Black Devil, putting on the table also a concrete project that can “involve” one of the best talents at international level.

In this sense the face and words of Paolo Maldini and Boban could make the difference. According to reports we are in the decisive 10 days. It is indeed difficult for Ceballos to wait too long before the final choice. “We are not ambitious? It is not true – Boban said – we must invest well in order to build. This is the biggest challenge of my life”.

Then there is great urgency in defence. Coach Marco Giampaolo currently has only Romagnoli and Musacchio available as centre back, with Caldara not returning before November. The name of Dejan Lovren, 30-year-old Croatian international of Liverpool, remains alive while German Pezzella is the new alternative.
