Tottenham winger offered to AC Milan – their stance

AC Milan have been offered the opportunity Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn by the agents of Sven Botman.

AC Milan have been negotiating the signing of Sven Botman for a long time. However, another name was mentioned during talks with his agents. The Muy Manero player agency also represents Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn who is set to change clubs at the end of the season.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Bergwijn has been offered to AC Milan 3-weeks ago by his agents. In a meeting held at Casa Milan about Botman, the same agents have offered the Rossoneri the chance to sign the 24-year-old winger from Tottenham.

Bergwijn joined Tottenham Hotspur three years ago for a transfer fee of €30 million from PSV Eindhoven. Unfortunately, the Netherlands international has been unable to make a significant impact in the Premier League. The arrival of Antonio Conte on Tottenham’s bench has seen him fall down the pecking order and in need to find a new club.

The 24-year-old has made 21 appearances finding the back of the net on three occasions and providing two assists. Despite his undisputed talent, Steven Bergwijn has struggled in the Premier League scoring a career total of 7 goals in his three seasons in England.

Tottenham hope to recoup the same fee they paid for his services in 2020 but that looks unlikely. AC Milan appreciate Bergwijn but the Netherlands international is not high on their list of targets for that position. Paolo Maldini is pushing for names like Domenico Berardi, Noa Lang or Marco Asensio.
