Transfer update on Asensio, Acerbi, Ziyech, Sanches and Traore

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti gives on update on several players that have been linked with AC Milan this summer.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are set to sign new contracts tomorrow. The duo will continue to take care of AC Milan’s transfer business for the next two years. Now it’s time for the Rossoneri to make concrete moves on the mercato and the signing of Divock Origi from Liverpool is just the first step.

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti gives an update on several transfer targets on AC Milan’s radar. Despite recent rumors, Pellegatti doubts that Francesco Acerbi will be the new centre back under Pioli’s orders. AC Milan will sign a new defender this summer but it will be a young player rather than an experienced veteran according to the Italian journalist.

The situation on Renato Sanches and Charles De Ketelaere has complicated. The agent of the Portuguese midfielder, Jorge Mendes, is asking for more money for his client. In fact, Mendes is demanding a contract of 5 million per season. That’s what PSG are offering him and what Sanches asked for in January. Leeds United have joined the race for De Ketelaere and are willing to make an offer of 40 million for the Belgian attacking midfielder. A figure that seems out of reach for the Rossoneri.

Things are looking different for Hakim Ziych and Marco Asensio. The Chelsea right winger is open to a loan move and Chelsea are willing to give the green light if an agreement can be reached on the player’s wages. Asensio remains one of the favorite names for the right winger role. He is also Maldini’s top pick. Again, salary is the biggest problem with AC Milan unlikely to go beyond 5 million per season. Asensio is another client of Mendes.

Sassuolo’s Hamed Junior Traore has been linked with a potential move to AC Milan this summer. Traore is a very versatile player that has been deployed as left winger, attacking midfielder and central midfielder. He has been mentioned as a possible alternative to Renato Sanches but AC Milan consider him more fitted for the trequartista role reports Pellegatti. However, he is one of many alternatives and not even a plan B.
