Benfica name price tag for Milan target

AC Milan have contacted Benfica to inquire about Gedson Fernandes. The talented central midfielder is available for 30 million euros.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – According to reports from Sky Sport, negotiations continue between technical Paolo Maldini and Bennacer’s agent to agree the last contract details of the Algerian midfielder. Ismael Bennacer is currently playing in Africa’s Cup of Nations.

At the same time Maldini is concentrated on signing a centre back and another central midfielder. Lovren is a possibility according to Sky but not a convincing one. While regarding the midfield, AC Milan have shifted their attention from Veretout to Gedson Fernandes.

Fernandes is Benfica’s next golden boy and has attracted the interest of the Rossoneri with great performances this season. The 19-year-old midfielder made his Primeira Liga, Champions League and full international debuts all within a matter of months. An unparalleled progress that proves his Immense talent.

Maldini has contacted the player’s agent and has learned that Benfica ask 30 million euros for their jewel. Benfica recently announced the sale of Joao Felix to Atletico Madrid for a record breaking fee of 126 million euros. After Felix, Gedson is Benfica’s most prized youngster. The presence of former Milan legend Rui Costa at Benfica could facilitate the transfer of the young Portuguese midfielder.

Gedson Fernandes made 42 appearances with season, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists. He fully respects Elliot’s guidelines for the transfer market: young player, hugely talented and commands an affordable fee. Juventus and Manchester United are reportedly interested in his services but, unlike AC Milan, so far neither of this clubs has contacted Benfica.
