AC Milan admit interest in defender

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini talks about the Rossoneri plans in defence and the possibility of signing Matija Nastasic.

AC Milan don’t intend to wait any longer for Nikola Milenkovic. Unless Fiorentina quickly change their mind and lower their asking price, the Rossoneri will sign another centre back.

Paolo Maldini is always precise and rich in content in his statements. The technical director of AC Milan, in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, spoke about the situation in defence and the club’s plans on the transfer market.

Maldini admitted that the club will make a new signing to strengthen the back line. “We have a problem in defense with Romagnoli and Musacchio out and Duarte who has been out for some time. We’ll see what to do“.

Yesterday, the name of Schalke defender Nastasic was linked to AC Milan. Maldini admitted that Nastasic is a target. “He is a good player and we like all good players. We have to see if it will be compatible with our budget“. The 27-year-old centre back, who in the past has played for Fiorentina and Manchester City, could arrive on loan.

Maldini then spoke about yesterday’s match against Bologna and about a player who seemed particularly fit, Davide Calabria: “He is confirming what he demonstrated a month and a half ago. This team is more and more convinced that it can achieve the desired results. I have a very high opinion of Calabria, I know where he can go“.
