AC Milan closing in on Valencia midfielder signing

AC Milan have intensified talks with Valencia to close an agreement for the signing of American midfielder Yunus Musah.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to arrive in Italy in the next hours to sign his contract with AC Milan. However, with Tonali sold and Bennacer out until next year, the Rossoneri need to sign two other players in that department in order to complete the midfield. In recent hours AC Milan are pressing for Yunus Musah.

Musah could be AC Milan’s second signing in midfielder. The Italian clubs has intensified contact with Valencia in order to find an agreement. Valencia are in the middle of a very difficult situation and need to sell some of their best players this summer. The Spanish club is relying on Yunus Musah and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili for fresh funds.

Valencia are currently asking a fee of €30 million in order to part was with Musah but are willing to negotiate. The economic needs of the Spanish club could be an advantage for Milan, who hope to close the transfer of the 20-year-old American midfielder for a maximum of €25 million including bonuses.

Musah has already said yes to a transfer to AC Milan and personal terms are not an issue. The 20-year-old American midfielder wants to return to Italy where he lived for many years during his childhood. Musah has an Italian passport (and also knows the language well) so his potential signing would not count for the one remaining slot on non-EU players.

Talks between the parties have entered a crucail phase and the Rossoneri are very optimistic. Despite his young age, Yunus has been a regular start for Valencia in the last three years making over 100 appearances for the Spanish club. Musah is also a key player for the USA national team with 24 caps to his name. His nationality is viewed very positively from Gerry Cardinale who wants to bring at least one USA player at AC Milan this summer.
