AC Milan have reached an agreement with Nice for the signing of 21 year old Allan Saint-Maximin. The French winger will cost the Rossoneri 20 million.
AC Milan had tried in the last days of January transfer window, unfortunately without success. However, according to Sportmediaset, Nice star winger Allan Saint-Maximin will be a Rossoneri player in the summer.
As with Lucas Paqueta, AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has decided to move in advance and has already reached an agreement for the arrival of the 21 year old French player. Nice have accepted a 20 million euros bid from the Rossoneri while Allan will earn 1,5 million per season. Saint-Maximin is the winger Milan have chosen to gift Gattuso for next season but probably won’t be the only signing in that position especially if the Rossoneri achieve Champions League qualification.
Milan would have been comfortable with a forward in this second half of the season. Leonardo tried till the very last day but the timing was not perfect. Nice demanded over 30 million and coach Vieira threatened to resign if Saint-Maximin was sold in January. After Balotelli joined Marseille Nice did not want to lose another attacking player.
Allan has all the qualities AC Milan and coach Gattuso require from the new winger. He is a fast and technically gifted player, Saint-Maximin is known for his great dribbling and ability to take on player. This last aspect is something that Milan appreciate a lot because every time Suso is not at his best the team is less dangerous up front.
Allan Saint-Maximin fits perfectly even with the new club philosophy. In March he will turn 22, has made over 100 league appearances and still has great margins for improvement. Nice signed the French international for 10 million euros in the summer of 2017 from Monaco. This season he has scored 6 goals and has provided 3 assists, exactly what AC Milan want: A goalscorer and an assist-provider,
