AC Milan consider swap deal with Atletico Madrid

AC Milan have put Samu Castillejo on the market and the Spanish right winger could return to La Liga.

Samu Castillejo has lost his starting position. After a brief period as the regular face on the right wing the Spaniard was overtaken in the club hierarchy by Alexis Saelemaekers. The Belgian is Stefano Pioli’s chosen one for important matches and only the cup remains for the former Villarreal.

After a not exactly exciting start to the season, the right winger has shown improvements recently and in the last two Europa League matches he has found the back of the net on two occasions, against Lille and Celtic.

Becoming the number one choice on the right wing will certainly not be easy and Florion Thauvin’s probable arrival would certainly complicate the situation. There is no doubt that in the face of a good offer of around 15 million euros, Milan would offload the 25-year-old.

The economic crisis, however, could push the Rossoneri to evaluate other options. Atletico Madrid is among the teams that have shown interest in Castillejo these days. Samu still has admirers in Spain where he was considered as one of the most exciting talents during his time at Villarreal.

Atletico Madrid too have a player that could be quite useful to the Rossoneri. Montenegro defender Stefan Savic has been linked with a move back to Serie A. Savic spent three good seasons at Fiorentina before joining Atletico Madrid in 2015. A swap deal between Savic and Castillejo would be ideal for both clubs reports MilanLive.it
