Leonardo ‘promises’ the purchase of two players in January

The winter transfer market is two months away but sporting director Leonardo has already promised the arrival of two new players at AC Milan.

At the moment when AC Milan seemed to be getting back on track after the vital wins against Sampdoria and Genoa, the Rossoneri are getting peeled from their finest parts. Coach Gennaro Gattuso must go ahead without the services of Mattia Caldara, Davide Calabria and Lucas Biglia. Three important players whose absence can affect the results of the upcoming games.

That’s why sporting director Leonardo is looking at many options on the market to complete the squad. Until now the Rossoneri have signed Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo for 35 million euros. The Brazil international should play a crucial role when he joins Milan in December (eligible to play only in January) but will not be Leonardo’s only signing in the winter transfer window.

Tuttosport reports that, except Paqueta, two new players will join AC Milan soon. Considering the current injury situation, and Gennaro Gattuso’s needs, Milan are expected to sign a new central midfielder and another centre forward.

There are many names that Leonardo is considering. In midfield, Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey and Leandro Paredes are all names that can improve the technical level of the department while Cesc Fabregas is not seen as a viable option. So far, Rino has relied only on Lucas Biglia, Kessie and Bonaventura while new arrival Bakayoko has totally disappointed.

In attack, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most probable alternative. The giant Swede desperately wants to return to European football and has instructed his agent, Mino Raiola, to find an agreement with AC Milan. Ibrahimovic’s contract with LA Galaxy has ended and now Zlatan is a free agent. The former AC Milan striker would gladly return to San Siro and money is not an issue for him.
