Man City put AC Milan forward on their target list

Manchester City are interested in AC Milan winger Rafael Leao with Guardiola’s scouts monitoring his growth.

Several young Rossoneri players are performing at high levels this season. Coach Stefano Pioli has created a good mix of talents and experienced players that has been able to challenge for the Scudetto. One of the biggest protagonists this season is Rafael Leao.

After two seasons of ups and downs, the Portuguese winger has now found continuity in his performances. During the summer, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara refused several offers because they believed in his potential. This season Rafael Leao finally made his breakthrough and proved them right.

Sportitalia journalist Rudy Galletti reports that Manchester City have targeted Rafael Leao. The scouts of the Citizens have been following the AC Milan player for some time and are impressed by his growth. There is still no negotiation between Manchester City and AC Milan but the Premier League side are continuing to monitor him closely.

Pep Guardiola greatly appreciates Leao, who is currently negotiating his contract extension with the Rossoneri club. His agent Jorge Mendes is in constant contact with Maldini and Massara to try to find an agreement. AC Milan are offering the 22-year-old left winger a new contract until 2026 with his salary set to triple from the current 1.5 million per year.

The Rossoneri management hopes to find an agreement before the end of the year and fend off the interest of foreign clubs like Manchester City. Leao has played a key role in Stefano Pioli’s side this season scoring 5 goals and assisting 3 in 19 appearances.
