AC Milan have reignited their interest in Rodrigo De Paul. The Udinese attacking midfielder is again part of the Rossoneri’s list of targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old Argentine star wants to leave Udinese at the end of the season and join a more ambitious club. Udinese offered De Paul the chance to revive his career after a difficult period at Valencia but it’s time for him to make the next step and play in European competitions.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) report that Udinese are asking a transfer fee of 40 million euros for Rodrigo De Paul but the Rossoneri are trying to lower the price tag. According to Gazzetta, AC Milan have offered Jens Petter Hauge plus cash for De Paul. Other talented youngsters like midfielders Tommaso Pobega and Marco Brescianini could be part of the talks between the two clubs.
Udinese are currently considering the Rossoneri’s proposal. At AC Milan, the Argentine midfielder would take Hakan Calhanoglu’s place. The contract of the Turkey international expires in June and is still far from being renewed. The 26-year-old is a very ductile player. A tactical flexible player with excellent technical skills that would fit perfectly in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
This season has been quite positive for De Paul has on a personal level. He has scored 8 goals and provided 9 assists in 33 appearances between Serie A and Coppa Italia. Excellent numbers for the former Valencia, who became of one Mino Raiola’s clients. An agent with whom Milan are having difficulties in renewing Gigio Donnarumma’s contract and with whom it is never easy to make arrangements.
