Trio of AC Milan players knocks on Gazidis door for Scudetto bonus

AC Milan players will meet with the management to discuss a possible economic prize to be received in the event of a Scudetto win.

AC Milan are thinking big and can no longer hide it. The first place in the Serie A standings, after twenty-six rounds, certifies the competitiveness of Stefano Pioli’s team.Winning the Scudetto is the important objective of the Rossoneri. The race is still long and Inter with Napoli are closely behind.

It will not be easy but AC Milan have a compact team that has done really well against the top fix, although clamorous games like the ones against Salernitana or Spezia have proven costly in the past. Nevertheless, the players are confident of their chances of winning the Serie A title for the first time in a decade.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the AC Milan players will soon knock on the door of Ivan Gazidis to discuss a bonus in case of final success. Captain Alessio Romagnoli, vice-captain Davide Calabria and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to represent the squad in the meeting with the Rossoneri CEO.

In fact, several AC Milan players and coach Stefano Pioli have guaranteed bonuses on their individual contracts but the delegation will discuss a “collective extra”, intended for the whole team. The meeting should take place after the match against Napoli. The outcome of AC Milan vs Napoli could have a great impact on the Red and Black’s Scudetto hopes.

Before the match against Napoli, AC Milan will host Udinese at San Siro and then face Inter in the first semi-final of the Coppa Italia. Twelve weeks remain until the end of the Serie A championship.
