5 Signings AC Milan really need

AC Milan have already closed their first summer signing but in order to complete the squad the Rossoneri need at least 5 other purchases.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – With the announcement of Marco Giampaolo as coach and Frederic Massara as sporting director, AC Milan’s management staff is now completed. In the meantime, Maldini, Boban and Gazidis have already purchased Rade Krunic from Empoli for €8 million and are working on other transfer targets. But what is this team missing?

Beyond the sales (which are necessary due to budget issues), looking at the squad on June 25, at least 5 signings are missing. Starting from the defense, where the farewell of Zapata has left only three centre backs available with Mattia Caldara injured until November. So a purchase is needed to avoid leaving Musacchio and Romagnoli alone at the start of the season. Kabak is very close to Milan, Giampaolo prioritizes Andersen of Sampdoria and while Liverpool defender Lovren is option b. Manolas has a high release clause and is practically a Napoli player.

The department that deserves more attention is the midfield. After the departure of 4 players, Milan need as many reinforcements. Excluding Krunic, the Rossoneri should buy three more midfielders. After long negotiations AC Milan refused to pay Sassuolo’s €30 million asking price and Stefano Sensi joined Inter instead. The Rossoneri have shifted their focus to Dani Ceballos. AC Milan are willing to invest an important figure for the Real Madrid ace but with the right formula.

Fiorentina’s Veretout and Sampdoria’s Praet are two other interesting players. Lucas Torreira of Arsenal is the number one target for the defensive midfielder position but Arsenal ask 40 million for his services. Talks between the parties proceed and the Rossoneri are counting a lot on the player’s desire to play again with his former coach Giampaolo.  Much more complicated the situation of Nicolo Barella. Cagliari value the player at 50 million and Milan do not want to take part in a bidding war with Inter.

The attack also needs a retouch. Marco Giampaolo prefers to play with two strikers and at this moment Milan have only Piatek, Cutrone and Andre Silva to occupy this slots. The Portuguese striker will be tested by Giampaolo during pre-season before making a final decision on his permanence. Cutrone’s stay is also in doubt. Nevertheless, AC Milan need to sign another centre forward. So far, Andrej Kramaric and Schick are the only two striker AC Milan have contacted. Then it will be necessary to make a sacrifice with Suso, Kessie and Donnarumma risking their place.
