Di Marzio: AC Milan in contact with PSG defender

AC Milan have turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

AC Milan continue their search for a new centre back. Finding a replacement for Simon Kajer is the January priority of the management. Sven Botman remains the number one target but convincing Lille on letting go their star defender on favorable conditions is not easy. In addition, the Dutch is a wanted man in the Premier League.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan have turned their attention to Abdou Diallo. Paris Saint-Germain need to sell a couple of players in January in order to guarantee the necessary 100 million euros and stay in line with the Financial Fair Play parameters.

Di Marzio reports that AC Milan are in direct contact with PSG for Abdou Diallo. The Ligue 1 side spent 32 million euros to purchase Diallo from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. The 25-year-old centre back made 59 appearances with PSG in his first two seasons in France but has fallen out of favor since coach Mauricio Pochettino arrived.

Despite PSG’s need to sell a couple of players it doesn’t look like sporting director Leonardo will make any discounts. Diallo’s market value is believed to be around €25 million but the Rossoneri are waiting for PSG’s final answer.

AC Milan would like to avoid spending a big fee immediately for a new defender. A player arriving on loan with an option to buy would be the ideal operation for the Rossoneri and it seems like Diallo may be available on loan.
