AC Milan 2-1 Lazio: Bonaventura cites Gandhi

Cutrone and Bonaventura’s goals in the first half completed a convincing team performance against Lazio. AC Milan coach and players commented on the result after the important victory over Lazio.

Giacomo Bonaventura became the protagonist of a convincing performance against Lazio, scoring the 2-1 goal of the Rossoneri’s victory against Simone Inzaghi’s team. AC Milans’s number five celebrated this success on Instagram citing Gandhi: “Strength doesn’t come from physical capacity it comes from an indomitable will“.

Patrick Cutrone was once again the protagonist. Launched by Gattuso to compensate for the absence of Nikola Kalinic, the Rossoneri number 63 opened the scoresheet, netting the first goal of the match in the 15th minute. Another great performance from the young striker who at the end of the match celebrated on Instagram. “A great victory”.

After the match against Lazio, coach Gattuso, still excited about the win, spoke to Milan TV and shared his views on his team’s performance. He also sent a message to all the Red and Black fans: “Come on Wednesday to San Siro and support us as well in the TIM Cup”

This was a very tough test as we played a strong side. They pressured us so much in the second half, they are good in everything; yet, we won and the credit goes to the boys. Still in the 93’, they were giving everything on the pitch. The only thing I did not like was dropping the intensity after Cutrone’s goal. Now we’ll play every 3 days and we can’t afford to relax, we must continue this way.

Jack Bonaventura, who scored once again under coach Gattuso’s management, also spoke to Milan TV after AC Milan’s victory over Lazio at San Siro.

It feels great to score against a “big one” like Lazio. We are doing better now with the boss (Gattuso). I’m doing better especially from a physical level. I’m in a good condition and in I have gained a competitive rhythm, I am feeling confident in the midfield. Today, we gave a great performance, technically and physically. The whole team is doing better, but we should not get overexcited. The TIM Cup? It’s very important. We have seen how strong Lazio are. We must keep up the spirit and the intensity.

Davide Calabria gave a fantastic performance tonight at San Siro. He was not only very sharp on his defensive duties but also made a perfect cross to assist Bonaventura in the second and decisive goal of the game. The young No.2 also spoke to Milan TV after the match:

I’m working on my passing, I will definitely try to make another assist next week. The coach brings the best out me. He is doing a great job with us. We had not beaten any of the top teams this season and now this win gives us confidence. We must keep up the hard work. I prefer to play on the right, but I’ll play wherever Gattuso tells me to do. On the TIM Cup, I think Lazio will try hard to beat us and bounce back immediately because nobody is satisfied after losing.

Also the captain Leonardo Bonucci spoke to the club’s official TV channel following the victory at San Siro:

We have to keep our feet on the ground. We won, which is our duty. We played very well in the first both offensively and defensively. In the second spell, instead, we conceded more to our opponents. The coach has managed to enhance our group cohesion and now we all fight for each other. It’s great to be part of this team. Was I injured? I am fine, everything is under control.
