AC Milan closing in on €33m signing: details

AC Milan are in advanced negotiations to complete the signing of Sven Botman from Lille for next summer.

The Rossoneri fans are left disappointed by what’s going on around. Juventus are closing the purchase of Dusan Vlahovic for a record fee of €75 million while Inter will sign Robin Goses for €25 million. Two clubs in financial difficulties are allowing themselves to sign two of the best players in Serie A while AC Milan announce the arrival of 18-year-old Marko Lazetic.

Nevertheless, AC Milan are working to secure one of the best players in Europe but for the summer. The Rossoneri have decided to not make a significant investment for a new centre back in January because they are fully concentrated on Sven Botman.

It was impossible to bring Botman at San Siro in January. Lille want to secure Champions League participation for next season and at the same time do well in the upcoming two matches against Chelsea in the round of 16. However, the French club are open to let him leave in the summer and are already in advanced negotiations with AC Milan reveals Calciomercato.com.

Journalist Daniele Longo reports that AC Milan are working on a base fee of €27 million. In addition, Milan will offer 6 million in add-ons bringing the total fee of €33 million. The 22-year-old Netherlands defender has already agreed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri. Botman wants to join only AC Milan that’s why he rejected a rich contract from Newcastle.

Botman is the reason why Maldini and Massara refused to spend for Abdou Diallo in January. For the Rossoneri management are confident that Botman would be the perfect partner for Fikayo Tomori. The two could create a duo that could last for the next ten years.
