AC Milan interested in Swedish star

AC Milan have identified the 23 year old Swedish start of Werder Bremen as the replacement of Luca Antonelli who is about to join Fiorentina.

The targets of AC Milan’s calciomercato are still not too clear. The Rossoneri will not be able to invest like they did in the summer and first they will probably have to shrink out part of the current squad. Despite all, the Rossoneri management seems to be seriously looking at a player who has impressed over the past few months.

The Swedish 23 year old full-back Ludwig Augustinsson, part of Werder Bremen, is the red and blacks target in defense. The young defender is remembered by many Italian fans because he was a starter in the two World Cup playoffs games between Italy and Sweden, with the Scandinavian national eliminating the Azzurri national.

Rumors about this negotiation were already in the air yesterday but Il Corriere dello Sport confirms everything today reporting that AC Milan, and in particular the sports director Massimiliano Mirabelli, are very attracted by the talents of the German Bundesliga. After the summer operations of Hakan Calhanoglu and Ricardo Rodriguez, the club is preparing on offer to sign Augustinsson of Werder.

The cost of the operation is around 15 million euros and the full-back will join AC Milan only in the event of the sale of Luca Antonelli, who is currently in Fiorentina’s sights. Tactically, the Swede would be very useful, given his ability to play in many offensive positions, such as central midfielder or even as an winger on the left flank.
