AC Milan made official offer for Manchester United star
Before signing Samu Castillejo, AC Milan made an intense search for a new left winger and one of the names that was considered at the time was that of Anthony Martial.
Even though he had less than one month to take care of AC Milan’s shopping campaign technical director Leonardo Araujo signed numerous quality players and made a few failed attempts for others. One of the targets that the Brazilian director wanted to bring at San Siro was Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.
According to RMC SPORT, both AC Milan and Atletico Madrid were interested in signing Anthony Martial this summer. In fact, the Rossoneri presented an official offer for the 22 year old left winger that was rejected by Manchester United, intentioned on keeping the French talent.
Anthony Martial seems caught up in the Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward war at the club and was not allowed to leave. The French player repeatedly asked to be sold this summer but without success. Martial’s contract with the English giants expires in 2019 but United have the option to renew it for one more year.
