Rumors about Ralf Rangnick becoming the new coach of AC Milan lasted for more than 6 months. Many media claimed that the German would replace coach Stefano Pioli at the end of the season but things happened otherwise.

At the very last moment, the German coach and AC Milan decided to part ways. However, Ralf Rangnick could still arrive in Serie A for next season.

According to reports by Corriere della Sera, Rangnick could join Roma next season. The capital club was recently sold to new American owners and Dan Friedkin (who had made a bid to buy Milan from Elliot – read here) is looking at the German to run his club.

The 62-year-old professor is famous for his revolutionary ideas and it seems that it’s exactly what Friedkin’s new project at Roma requires. The recent departure of sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is just the beginning,

After his failed AC Milan move, Rangnick left his job as Head of Sport and Development Soccer at Red Bull. A clear signal that the German is ready to take over a new club this season. Until now, it was believed that Ralf’s next destination would be the Premier League.
