Gazzetta: The details of Milan-Reina

La Gazzetta dello Sport offers the latest updates on AC Milan-Pepe Reina contacts with the Spanish keeper destined to join the Rossoneri at the end of the season.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta, AC Milan are already in advanced contacts with Jorge Medes, agent of Reina, to reach an agreement. The Rossoneri are offering a three year contract with still unknown figures (today at Napoli he earns 2.5 million euros). The Spaniard seems to be fascinated by this proposal.

However, as agreed with president Aurelio De Laurentiis, he will give a definitive answer only at the end of the season because at the moment his attention is focused exclusively on winning the Scudetto with Napoli. What is certain, however, is that it will be farewell. The Blues want to close the relationship and rely on a younger goalkeeper.

The contractual situation of Reina immediately attracted the attention of Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli. The Rossoneri executives, considering the experience and the quality of the Spaniard, immediately jumped to close the operation (as was done for Ivan Strinic, also on a free transfer).

But of course everything will also depend on the decision of Gigio Donnarumma. The future of the young Italian is completely uncertain. Club CEO Fassone this morning tried to reassure the fans but it is clear that his sale is not a remote hypothesis. Unlikely that Reina can act as a second to Gigio. The former Liverpool is in the last years of his career, but he still has what it takes to be a protagonist. Despite his experience and obvious qualities Reina could hardly be considered an upgrade over Donnarumma.
