From England: Arsenal ready to break the bank for AC Milan star

Arsenal are prepared to splash for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. The Portuguese has attracted interest from the Premier League with his performances.

AC Milan ace Rafael Leao is having a great season so far. The flamboyant left-winger has scored ten goals and provided six assists in 27 appearances with the Red and Blacks. Excellent performances that have attracted the attention of many clubs, especially from the Premier League.

The Sun reports that Arsenal are keen to splash the cash in the summer and have targeted the exciting AC Milan winger. The Gunners were left disappointed in January after their €70 million bid for Dusan Vlahovic was rejected by the player. Now Arsenal have turned their attention to Rafael Leao.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is reportedly impressed by the performances of Rafael Leao. Arteta wants to bring the Portuguese at Emirates stadium for the next season and will have over €200 million at his disposal to improve his squad. However, Arsenal are not the only English club keeping tabs on Leao with Manchester City and Newcastle also interested in his services.

AC Milan are currently in negotiations to extend the contract of Leao with his current deal expiring in 2024. The parties have reportedly reached a verbal agreement but everything is halted until the Court of Arbitration for Sport gives a final verdict on the €16.5 million fine the player must pay to Sporting Lisbon.

Despite the interest of rich Premier League clubs, AC Milan are confident that Rafael will continue his career at San Siro. The 22-year-old has become vital to the Rossoneri’s game and a key player in Stefano Pioli’s eleven.
