Gds: AC Milan top target for the attack is not Origi

AC Milan are reportedly in talks with Divock Origi but the Rossoneri’s primary target for the attack is another player reports Gazzetta.

AC Milan are concentrated on the upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari but the mercato has been the main topic of discussion in recent days. The Rossoneri are rumored to be in negotiations with Liverpool striker Divock Origi. The Belgian becomes a free agent at the end of the season so Milan are reportedly trying to complete a deal in advance.

Divock Origi has vast experience in the Premier League but he has never been a regular starter at Liverpool. A surprise choice that has divided fans. However, Origi is an option and not the primary transfer target for the attack reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

AC Milan are tempted by Origi for economic reasons but Gianluca Scamacca remains the mos preferred name according to Gazzetta. The 23-year-old Italian center forward is doing very well with Sassuolo this season scoring 12 goals in 27 league appearances.

Scamacca has a contract with Neroverdi until 2025. Sassuolo are currently asking 40 million euros for his services but AC Milan want to wait until the end of the season in order to better understand what the exact price tag will be. Interest in Scamacca is high with Inter also looking at him for next season.

Andrea Belotti is another name that has been linked to AC Milan besides Divock Origi and Gianluca Scamacca. However, the 28-year-old Torino striker doesn’t convince Milan. His age, injury record and tactical positioning are not appealing for the Rossoneri. The player has offered himself to Milan but his chances of joining Pioli’s squad are very low.
