Leonardo’s next two transfer targets

AC Milan technical director Leonardo has just completed the mega deal that will bring Mattia Caldara and Gonzalo Higuain to Milan, with Leonardo Bonucci returning to Juventus. Now he can focus on both sales and other purchases.

Regarding the left winger position Leonardo aims to close the signing of Bernard Duarte on a free transfer. Il Corriere dello Sport writes today that yesterday there were new contacts with the entourage of the player. The Rossoneri seek to reduce the agent commission fees. The former star of Shakhtar Donetsk wants a four year contract.

Tuttosport reveals that AC Milan has offered a deal of 3.5 million euros per season plus bonuses that would bring his total salary to 4 million. Chelsea through intermediaries Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci are trying to make a last attempt for Bernard but the 25 year old Brazilian seems to prefer the Rossoneri destination. Intense contacts between the parties in these hours but finding an agreement is just a matter of time. The talented Brazilian will arrive at San Siro shortly.

For the midfield, the big dream seems to be Adrien Rabiot. The 23 year old star of Paris Saint-Germain is a top target of Leonardo who knows him well since his time in Paris. Il Corriere dello Sport writes that the AC Milan technical director has already had a positive telephone contact with the player’s mother-agent.

AC Milan are considering whether to make an official offer to PSG very soon or change target. Rabiot’s contract with the French side is about to expire in a year, so it may be an opportunity to try and get him on the cheap. At normal times Rabiot would cost around 50 million euros. Barcelona remain interested in his services but so far have not presented any offers.
