Manchester City to make €40m bid for AC Milan star

AC Milan star Theo Hernandez tops Pep Guardiola’s list of targets. Manchester City will try to sign a new left-back in January.

The summer transfer window has just closed but clubs are already planning their moves for the winter mercato. The AC Milan management is currently busy with renewals and the contract extension of Theo Hernandez is a priority for the club. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri must be careful to fend off the interest of other European clubs in the flamboyant full-back.

In recent days, the English media has reported on Manchester City’s interest in Theo Hernandez. Pep Guardiola needs a new left-back after Benjamin Mendy was suspended on charges of sexual assault. The 23-year-old AC Milan star tops Pep Guardiola’s list of transfer targets.

According to reports from Spain, the Premier League giants are already preparing an opening bid to Milan. Todofichajes reveals that Manchester City will offer 40 million euros to sign Theo Hernandez.

An offer that will certainly be rejected by AC Milan. The Rossoneri management value their left-back much more than €40 million. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely that Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will decide to sell one of the team’s key players in mid-season. Only a truly shocking bid of over €70 million could tempt the Rossoneri to sell Theo Hernandez.

The plan of AC Milan is to have Theo sign a new contract. The Rossoneri have already contacted the agent of the former Real Madrid and are expected to sit down and discuss shortly. The club will offer the 23-year-old defender a contract extension of around 5 million per season. Maldini will try to avoid at all costs a similar situation to Krssie, Donnarumma and Calhanoglu.
