Leonardo abandons Paqueta and focuses on Bennacer

PSG director Leonardo has abandoned the idea of signing Lucas Paqueta and has shifted his attention to Ismael Bennacer.

The excellent season of Ismael Bennacer has not gone unnoticed. The Algerian midfielder, after a difficult start, took the keys of the midfield, becoming an regular starter in Stefano Pioli’s eleven.

The former Empoli, elected best player of the last African Cup of Nations, is the perfect profile for the Rossoneri team that Gazidis has in mind. The 22-year-old therefore represents one of the strong points of the team but Milan must pay attention to the interest of other clubs.

Le10Sport reports that PSG are keeping tabs on the AC Milan midfielder. The French giants have been following Ismael Bennacer for some time. PSG sporting director Leonardo has contacted the player’s agent to understand the intentions of the Algerian defensive midfielder.

According to Le10Sport, PSG will offer 30 million euros for Bennacer. One year ago AC Milan spent 16 million to sign Ismael from Empoli. Apparently Leonardo has shifted his focus form Lucas Paqueta to Ismael Bennacer.

For the last year the former AC Milan sporting director has tried to bring Paqueta in France. However, PSG’s offer has always been around 20 million, always half of what Leonardo himself paid to buy him from Flamengo.
