Milan vs Verona, probable lineups
Today AC Milan host Hellas Verona in a match valid for Coppa Italia. Coach Gennaro Gattuso aims to rest many players giving a chance to the B team.
AC Milan’s most important novelty by Gennaro Gattuso was the return to 4-3-3, already used against Bologna last Sunday. The new coach in today’s press conference confirmed the choice to continue with the defense of 4 as it considered to give more guarantees.
Also in the Italian Cup match tomorrow night against Hellas Verona the Rossoneri coach will give continuity to this formation. Regarding the probable lineup there are still several doubts: first of all on the goalie, with Gianluigi Donnarumma who could rest to make room for his brother Antonio. Marco Storari has recently suffered an injury and was not called up fro this match. No rotation regarding other positions. Leonardo Bonucci will lead the defense, with Alessio Romagnoli (suspended in Milan-Bologna) to start alongside him. Rest also for Mateo Musacchio, whose performance was very negative last Sunday.
The full backs will be Davide Calabria on the right and Ricardo Rodriguez on the other side. In the middle of the field Gattuso is still not convinced by Lucas Biglia and as playmaker should start former captain Montolivo. Manuel Locatelli may partner him even though Franck Kessie is expected to start from the first minute. Giacomo Bonaventura completes the midfielder.
Up front, the double striker hypothesis remains the most probable solution with Andre Silva as centre forward, supported by Suso and Patrick Cutrone on the wings. As we reported a couple of days ago new coach Gennaro Gattuso has some new ideas regarding Cutrone’s position on the pitch and would like to experiment with him.
