Bonaventura injury update: Jack could miss the remaining of the season

The injury of Giacomo Bonaventura is more serious than expected. The AC Milan star midfielder will undergo surgery soon and could miss the remaining of the season.

The injury situation at Milanello keeps getting worse. Juventus defeat aside, AC Milan have been doing better of late but after Caldara, Biglia and Musacchio the Rossoneri have lost Giacomo Bonaventura for a long time.

With Lucas Biglia out for four months Gattuso must deal with the absence of yet another midfielder. The Rossoneri keep losing creative power at the most important department of the pitch. Sky Sport reports that Bonaventura will undergo surgery this week to resolve an inflammation to his left knee. Jack could miss 5 months of action if not the entire season depending on how his recovery will proceed.

The Italian is one of the most flexible elements of the team because he can play both as central midfielder or left winger. The former Atalanta provides extra tactical situations and coach Gattuso appreciates him a lot for his ductility. This start of the season has been very positive for Bonaventura who had scored 3 goals and provided one assist in 8 Serie A appearances.

Now it will be up to Paolo Maldini and Leonardo to find the right reinforcement in January. Considering the situation AC Milan may need more than one purchase in midfield. The management is following several interesting names like Leandro Paredes of Zenit and Sensi of Sassuolo but Bonaventura’s injury may force the sporting director to look at more options.
