The player’s condition after the injury that forced him out during yesterday’s match against Benevento at San Siro.
Lucas Biglia was forced to exit the pitch in the 72nd minute being substituted with Manuel Locatelli following a back injury. The player underwent medical tests after the match and the results are not positive. Here is the official statement of the club:
“AC Milan inform that Lucas Biglia reported a severe lumbar trauma due to an injury during Saturday’s match against Benevento. The player has undergone medical examinations that highlighted a fracture of the transverse processes of the first two lumbar vertebrae. A detailed prognosis will be issued in the coming days upon completion of all medical tests”.
There is a strong probability that the season for the Argentine midfielder has ended. He is sure to miss the Coppa Italia final to be played on 9 May and his participation at the World Cup this summer is at risk.
