Pirlo: I was offered in exchange for Ibra
Andrea Pirlo was one of the best midfielders in AC Milan’s recent history but the Italian maestro was close to abandoning the Rossoneri in advance.
AC Milan legendary midfielder, Andrea Pirlo, on Sky Sport’s microphones, revealed an interesting backstory on the passage of Ibrahimovic to AC Milan: “When the club was negotiating the signing of Ibrahimovic I was offered in exchange to Barcelona, fortunately it was all resolved and his move to Milan happened anyway. It would have been a good experience but I was fine with the Rossoneri”.
Andrea Pirlo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic played together for one season and won the last Serie A tittle for the Rossoneri in 2011. However one year later, the Italy international moved to Juventus when he won the Scudetto for 4 consecutive years.
