Racing Avellaneda confirm AC Milan interest on Lautaro Martinez

Lautaro Martinez is one of the most talked about names in Argentine and one of the most wanted players on the market. The talent of Racing Avellaneda has been targeted by several important club in Europe, AC Milan included.

Inter are particularly fond of the 20 year old striker, who in these weeks is preparing to choose which club he will join in June. The Nerazzurri want to block the player immediately in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. An important role will also play Diego Milito, former Inter striker and today a Racing manager. The players agents are in Italy and his countryman Javier Zanetti, vice president of Inter, is personally involved in the operation with the sporting director Piero Ausilio. However things are not so simple for Inter.

Victor Blanco, president of Racing Avellaneda, talking about Martinez future revealed: “Inter, Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Manchester have called me for Lautaro Martinez. Inter made only one offer, but nothing that interested us“.

The president of the Argentine club reveals that AC Milan are also interested on the young striker. It is well known that Massimiliano Mirabelli and his scouts are attentive to the various young profiles around the world, especially in South America. Reports suggest that even Lautaro Martinez likes the idea of joining Milan, but the competition for his services is high. Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were reportedly interested on the Argentine U20 star, although President Blanco did not mention them.

Despite Inter being considered as favorites to land the player, their bid has been deemed too low by Racing Avellaneda. A figure of 15-20 million euros will be needed to secure the signature of Martinez. The Rossoneri are prepared to spend 100 million euros on next summer’s transfer window and a fragment of that budget may be invested on Martinez.
