Sassuolo buy AC Milan midfielder Manuel Locatelli

AC Milan have completed the sale of Manuel Locatelli to Sassuolo. The 20 year old midfielder leaves the Rossoneri after 63 appearances with the first team.

Sky Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport both confirm that an agreement has been reached between the Rossoneri and Sassuolo for the transfer of Manuel Locatelli. The player has not traveled to Spain together with his teammates for tonight’s friendly match between AC Milan and Real Madrid and is set to complete his medicals in Italy.

Although the Red and Blacks wanted to keep the 20 year old midfielder, the player himself, who would be very closed after the arrival of Bakayoko, wanted to play more and a move to Sassuolo was the only option. Despite Leonardo’s insistence, Locatelli wanted a team that could guarantee him more minutes.

Manuel Locatelli leaves AC Milan after three seasons with the first team. Sassuolo purchase the talented Italian youngster for 12 million euros plus bonuses while the Rossoneri are also granted a buy-back clause that can be activated during the next 3 years.
