Newcastle to make January offer for Diego Laxalt

AC Milan full back Diego Laxalt could be sold in order to invest in new signings. Newcastle will make an official offer for the Uruguay international.

In the last press conference of 2018, AC Milan sporting director Leonardo declared that AC Milan can’t invest a lot on the transfer market because of UEFA. The governing body of European football has forbidden the Rossoneri to spend money and did not welcome the purchase of Lucas Paqueta. If Milan want to buy they first must sell.

Calciomercato.com reveals today that the Rossoneri may sell one of the new arrivals who joined AC Milan during the summer. Premier League club Newcastle are interested in signing Diego Laxalt in the January transfer window. After failing to reached a deal for Fabio Borini, the English team have set their sights on Laxalt.

The Magpies have made an approach to see if the 25 year old full back is available. AC Milan are willing to listen to offers and for the right figure Diego Laxalt could change team in January. Newcastle will present an official offer very soon believed to be around 20 million euros.

AC Milan signed Diego Laxalt for 14 million euros plus 4 in bonuses. So far, the Uruguay international has made 18 overall appearances mostly as a substitute. His form has been disappointing but the player enjoys Gennaro Gattuso’s trust. However, with the recovery of Ivan Strinic, Rino will have 3 left backs at his disposal (Ricardo Rodriguez, Strinic, Laxalt). Without Europa League football Milan can afford to sell one player in that position.
