Milan want Mario Rui as Rodriguez replacement

AC Milan will sign a new left back this summer with Mario Rui admitting he is expecting to work again with Marco Giampaolo.

TRANSFER NEWS MILAN – Just like AC Milan, Carlo Ancelotti is planning a massive overhaul this summer. Several Napoli players are expected to leave in the next summer transfer market session. Including Mario Rui.

The Portuguese full-back Mario Rui, a former player of Empoli and Rome who, as admitted by his entourage days ago, appears to be unhappy with the treatment he received at Napoli last season, is waiting for new proposals to change club and start a new adventure elsewhere.

Mario Rui’s agent Mario Giuffredi in an interview with Radio CRC confirmed his willingness to change club this summer: “Mario’s future? It is still early to know where he will play, we have to wait and see the end of the Serie A’s market of coaches.

I know that Marco Giampaolo values Mario Rui a lot and would like to have him with him in his new club. I am an honest agent and I believe that some of my clients like Rui deserve to play in big clubs like Milan or Juventus“.

AC Milan are in search of a substitute for Ricardo Rodriguez, a player that can challenge the Swiss left back for a starting spot. Giampaolo, who is the favorite to succeed Gattuso as coach of AC Milan, worked with the 28-year-old at Empoli and tried to sign him for Sampdoria. Napoli signed Mario Rui for around 9 million euros. The Portugal international made 20 Serie A appearances and 6 Champions League starts this season. Mario Rui has a contract until 2022 and Napoli value him at 15 million euros.
