Monchi wants Milan winger as first Sevilla signing

AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo could return to Spain after just one year in Italy. Sporting director Monchi wants him at Sevilla.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – This season new arrival Samu Castillejo has had little continuity as a starter. The 24-year-old Spanish winger has made 23 Serie A appearances so far but mostly as a substitute. Suso is the owner of the right wing while on the left coach Gennaro Gattuso continues to insist on Hakan Calhanoglu.

Fortunately, lately, Rino has started to use Castillejo a bit more. When he played from the first minute against Milan-Empoli, Samu was the man of the match scoring one goal and providing one assist. Despite his low game time, (780 minutes in Serie A this season) the former Villarreal has almost always been useful and committed when called into action.

However, Castillejo’s spell at San Siro could be coming to an already end claims the Spanish media. According to Elgoldigital.com, Sevilla have expressed their interest and are willing to bring the 24-year-old back to Spain for the new season.

In fact, already last summer Sevilla considered the signing of the former Villarreal but the two La Liga clubs never entered in official negotiations. With the return of former Roma sporting director Monchi at Sevilla the Spanish club will make a new attempt. After two years in Italy Monchi is back in Spain and hopes Castillejo takes the same path.

The probable sale of the Spanish winger is also linked with the potential signing of Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese. The Argentine has often been linked with a move to Milan and could facilitate the departure of Samu Castillejo. Last year AC Milan paid 25 million euros to sign the the talented winger in a deal that also included Carlos Bacca.
