AC Milan name Kessie price tag for January exit

AC Milan are an open to selling Franck Kessie in January if a pleasing offer arrives in order to fund the signing of a new defender.

The situation of Franck Kessie has become a double-edged problem for AC Milan. On one had the Ivorian central midfielder doesn’t want to renew his expiring contract and at the same time his performances have declined considerably this season.

After spending 32 million euros to purchase the 24-year-old from Atalanta in 2017, AC Milan risk losing Franck Kessie at the end of the season as a free agent. That’s a scenario that the Rossoneri are apparently trying to avoid.

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni reports the latest on AC Milan’s mercato strategy in an editorial for Tuttomercatoweb. “AC Milan are open to sell Kessie in January if an offer between 25 and 30 million euros arrives“. Despite Franck’s desire to end the season at San Siro, AC Milan have other plans and hope that clubs like PSG and Tottenham will make bids for his services.

Kessie’s sale could fund the arrival of a new defender. “Milan hope to put together a treasure to invest for a new centre back. Sven Botman is appreciated a lot but Lille are already selling Ikone to Fiorentina and don’t want to lose more pieces. There is a dialogue with Chelsea that could bring one of Blues defenders in Italy, a bit like what happened with Tomori

The player that Bucchioni  is referring to is Malang Sarr. The 22-year-old French centre back has found little space at Chelsea this season making only four appearances. Despite his young age, Sarr has already over 120 official appearances and could be an interesting name to substitute Simon Kjaer.
