Leonardo travels to France to close midfielder deal

After having completed the attack with the purchase of Gonzalo Higuain, now Leonardo’s attention has turned to the midfield. One of the main targets is Adrien Rabiot.

The 23 year old French midfielder has excellent qualities from a technical and physical point of view. He plays mainly as central midfielder and could be very useful for the Rossoneri. Leonardo knows him very well thanks to the years he spent at Paris Saint-Germain as a manager. The excellent relation between him and President Nasser-Al Khelaifi could be decisive for the success of the negotiation. According to reports by Premium Sport, the technical director has traveled to Paris today for him.

Leonardo should meet the leadership of the Paris club to seek an economic agreement. The PSG rate Rabiot at least 30 million, although they would prefer to keep him and renew his expiring contract. A hypothesis that, apparently, the player would have excluded for the moment, as he is eager for a new adventure in a leading role that AC Milan could guarantee. Premium Sport also states that there could also be an encounter with Rabiot’s agent, his mother, who has established a very good relationship with Leonardo.

There have already been contacts between the parties and it can not be ruled out that an agreement could be reached in the next few hours. In any case, the negotiation remains quite complicated. Barcelona were also interested in him but with the signing of Arturo Vidal they can be considered out now. Apparently AC Milan’s biggest hope for a deal is called Leonardo. We will see if the Brazilian will be able to close for this player, which can be very useful to the Milanese cause for his technical qualities and not only. Among other things, at only 23 years old, already has an excellent experience on international level.
